Lisa Chappell portrayed the very popular character 'Claire Louise McLeod' from 2001 - 2003 when she made the shocking decision to leave the show. Her character Claire was killed when her ute went off a cliff.

2001

After her father Jack McLeod's death Claire ran Drover's Run on her own until her sister arrived.

Tess's Arrival

Tess arrived at Drover's in 2001 and Claire wasn't exactly in the family mood. She was just waiting for Tess to slip up and give up and go back to the city. However, over the first season, she came to love her sister and the two became best friends, running Drover's Run along with Meg, Jodi & Becky.

2002

Claire had a rough time in 2002; she dated with a married man (without knowledge of his marriage) and then found out she was pregnant with her daughter.

Peter Johnson

Peter first appeared in 2001 and Claire was instantly attracted to him. In 2002 they dated until Claire found out he was married to a woman named Julia and had two daughters. During the last part of 2002 Peter returned and Claire told him he wasn't the father of her baby (although he was). He then proposed, but she refused.

2003

In 2003, Claire's life was looking up to begin with. She gave birth to Charlotte Prudence Mcleod (Bom Baby of Mcleod), and her and Alex began a relationship. At the time of Claire's death, Alex was preparing to propose to her. However, she was killed in a truck accident later in the 2003 season of the show.

Death

Claire, Tess & Charlotte were on there way home from Tess' doctor's appointment when a wild Brumby ran out in front of Claire's truck. Claire missed it but hit a pot hole and barely missed hitting a tree. She slammed on the brakes but it was too late, and the truck was dangling over the edge of a cliff. Tess got out of the truck and got Bom out, but Claire's leg was trapped under the steering wheel. Tess tried to get Claire out but it was useless and the ute went over the edge. Tess ran to Drover's to get help but by the time everyone got there it was too late and Claire was dead. After her death, Tess experienced seeing Claire but also realized she had to let her go. Claire's funral was attended by many close friends and her family members.
