"Hollywood" (ISBN 0876857659) is a 1989 novel by
Charles Bukowski which fictionalizes his experiences surrounding the film "Barfly". This book traces the experience of the fictional screenwriter Chinaski from his writing of thescreenplay through to its completion. He is actively involved only asscreenplay writer. Bukowski did enjoy a brief cameo in the film itself, as one of the many barflies.Plot summary
