He was selected in the first round, with the 28th pick overall, by theSan Antonio Spurs .On May 28, 2008,
ESPN Brazil reported that Splitter re-signed a two-year contract with TAU Cerámica which will likely keep him in Spain at least through the 2009-10 NBA season. The contract allows the Brazilian to make 8 times more than the NBA rookie scale cap would have allowed him to make with theSan Antonio Spurs .
