"Angel-A" (2005), directed by Luc Besson, is a French fantasy and romantic comedy featuring Jamel Debbouze and Rie Rasmussen.

Plot

Deeply in debt, penniless, and refused the benefits of his
U.S. green card, André (Jamel Debbouze) decides to kill himself by drowning in the River Seine. Just before he jumps from the Pont Alexandre III, his suicide attempt is interrupted by a beautiful blonde woman (Rie Rasmussen) who leaps into the water first. After André saves her from drowning, she offers him help out of his malaise.

Of course, Angela is an extraordinary woman, yet it is a long time before the skeptical André understands that she attached herself to his life because she needs him as he needs her — for the emotional connection that divinity denies her.
