- William S. McEllroy
William S. McElroy of Pittsburgh was an outstanding tennis player in the early part of the
20th Century . A distinguished player on the University of Pittsburgh's tennis team, he served as coach its tennis team in the 1920s and 30s. He also obtained a medical degree from Pitt and later served as Dean of theUniversity of Pittsburgh School of Medicine . [ cite book | last = O'Brien
