TheatreWorks (Singapore) is an independent, non-profit theatre company in
Singapore . Its artistic director isOng Keng Sen .History
Established in
1985 , TheatreWorks has been instrumental in nurturing professional theatre skills in Singapore artists, and developing the Singapore arts through its various productions and developmental programmes. The company is known for promoting Singaporean writing, with various programmes such as the 24-Hour Playwriting Competition and Singapore Young Dramatists Award.The company encompasses a Singapore Wing and an International Wing.
Theatreworks' latest work [http://www.theatreworks.org.sg/singapore/diaspora/index.htm Diaspora] , commissioned by the Singapore Government for the 2006 IMF/ World Bank meetings, was reviewed negatively in the Singapore's main newspaper "
