Martin De Leon (born
May 25 ,1981 ) is a Mexican-American writer, editor, and music critic based inBrooklyn, New York . He has a monthly column in the San Francisco electronic music magazine "XLR8R" and is one of the few Latinos covering avant-garde music in the United States. His debut collection of five short stories called "The Window Fingers of Professor Carlos" is forthcoming in 2008. In addition, he is also working on a genre novel about a shy 31-year old weirdo Mexican-American DJ, metaphysical immigration and rappers-as-sorcerers tentatively called "Dr. Cerebro" that takes place in near-future Houston. De Leon was short listed for the 2004 "Austin Chronicle" Short Story Award for his story "Neuro". He is co-founder and editor of [http://www.blankscreenmedia.com Blank Screen] , an artswebzine that covers progressive film, music and art. De Leon has written abouthip-hop ,indie rock , and DJs for, among others, "Urb ", "Vibe ", "The New York Press " and "The Austin Chronicle".In June 2008, his short story "The Zombie Quinceañera" was published in the second issue of the comics anthology, "Low Tech Modern Comics" along with such luminaries as
