map_caption =Black Creek is one of many waterways that flow from the city of
Vaughan, Ontario just north ofToronto (near Highway 407 andJane Street and connects to the Humber River near Scarlett Road and Dundas Street West. The western branch begins in the northeast corner of Highway 400 and Highway 7 in Edgeley. The eastern branch begins in the new residential development of Vellore Woods in Vaughan near Weston Road and Major Mackenzie Drive. The two branches meet just north of
Steeles Avenue . Black Creek is smaller than most of the waterways in theGreater Toronto Area . Much of the river consist of culverts south of the Highway 401 and Jane Street. Along Humber Boulevard North from Weston Road to Alliance Avenue, Black Creek runs along a man-made concrete waterway. The creek ends at Lambton Golf and Country Club in Lambton as it branches to the Humber River from snaking southwards through the former City of York and North York.On
August 19 ,2005 , Black Creek was the site of heavy flooding as a result of extremely heavy rains that afternoon. Its overflow destroyed aculvert onFinch Avenue . It is also one of the most polluted waterways as much of theToronto section runs through industrial areas and industrial run off often enters the creek.Communities
