Tony Schibeci (born Anthony Christopher Schibeci on June 21, 1967) is an Australian radio presenter and voice-over announcer.

Early career

Schibeci began his radio career on community radio stations, as well as being the announcer on the 1995 Australian TV series "Gladiators". he has honed his commentary skills by commentating numerous sports such as swimming, kayaking, rugby league, basketball, kickboxing, soccer, AFL and motor sport. He is married with four children.

occer commentary

In the mid-1990s while commentating an NSL soccer game, he promised during a late stage of the season that he would tattoo a Melbourne Knights FC logo on his buttocks if the team made the finals. It came down to the final match of the home and away season a few matches later when the Melbourne Knights FC needed a victory to qualify for the finals. The team won, forcing Schibeci to receive the tattoo (now a lifelong reminder of his bet).

Schibeci has also commentated A-League matches for SEN 1116.

EN 1116

In January 2004, Schibeci joined new Melbourne radio station SEN 1116, as a host of World Sport Overnight. Listeners often either like or find him highly annoying, as there are many blogs on the Internet calling for him to be removed from the air. Known as the "Schibecster", he can also be heard on SEN 1116 hosting The Gladiators of Sport with Troy Zantuck, Howard Leigh and Stephen Peak.

MCG announcing role

As well as his radio role, Schibecci is also the "Voice of the G", as ground announcer at the Melbourne Cricket Ground during Australian rules football and cricket matches.
