Fort Hamilton High School (HS 490) is a public high school in Brooklyn, New York, USA, under the jurisdiction of the New York City Department of Education. It has stood overlooking the Narrows and Lower New York Bay since 1941. One of the largest public high schools in the state, Fort Hamilton has over 4,000 students enrolled in grades 9-12. Extracurricular activities

Athletics

The football team, led by team captains, OT Wendell Joly, OT Tyrone Brown, CB William Quan, FS Jaiquawn Jarret, and DE Adnan Vandyck with the help of RB Antonio Walcott, QB Jeffrey Legree, and WR Keith Stroud has won the PSAL championship two years in a row. They ammased a record of 25-1 over a two year span and broke many New York State football records. The Tigers finished ranked #6 in the MSG's Top High School Football Teams in New York State.

The J.V. team had an Assistant Coach Named Cory Pilzer, an alumnist Coach in 2005-2006

SS, Julio Lugo who plays for the Boston Red Sox attended Fort Hamilton. The Kings Brothers who played in the NBA attended Fort Hamilton.

The boys varsity swim team won the title of Brooklyn champions during both the 2004-2005 and 2007-2008 seasons. For the two seasons, the team came in second place in New York City losing to Stuyvesant High School in 2005 and to Brooklyn Technical High School in 2008.
