Cathy Murphy (born 7 August 1967) is a British actress. She played recurring role of
Trisha Taylor insoap opera "EastEnders ". She had earlier played the ongoing role of Cheryl Barker in serial "Family Affairs " for one year.Cathy first showed her professionalism while performing in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie at the Kenneth Moore Theatre in circa 1980/1981. Cathy, her sister Elaine, Sue Patten, Gill Patten, Lois Prior & Sarah Thompson were appearing as 'school girls'. Due to noisy high spirits in the green room the girls missed one of their most important cues. Cathy was the only one to keep her head and stay in role as they rushed on to the stage.
