Berrington Hall

Berrington Hall [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/43243] is a country house located near Leominster, Herefordshire, England.

It is a neoclassical building [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/641775] which was designed by Henry Holland in the late 18th century. It has a somewhat austere exterior [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/224971] , but the interiors are subtle and delicate. There are good collections of furniture and paintings, and a nursery, Victorian laundry and Georgian dairy. Berrington has been in the care of the National Trust since 1954 and is, along with it's gardens, open to the public [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/454601] .

Berrington features Capability Brown's last landscape design [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/641778] . Berrington Pool, a lake and island, is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Berrington Hall also runs a British Eventing Horse Trials once a year which is open to the public [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6224] .
