Fire Tug (TUGS)

Fire Tug (TUGS)

The Fire Chief is a character in the children's television programme TUGS.The Fire Chief was in his own right, quite a significant character, although he did not have his own individual name, he had a major role in the health, safety, and well-being in port. He is seen as an authoritarian figure and was often around when chaos was stirring in port.

The Fire Chief is level headed and down-to-earth, he is usually bright eyed, although his stubble makes him appear quite rough, however he is alert and keen to get to work. In jinxed, he had a different face and because of this most people believe there is another fire tug though the face seemed to be one of Frank or Eddies when you look closely. He speaks with a Cockney accent.

According to sources, The Fire Chief is voiced by British actor Nigel Anthony, who also provided the voices of Big Mac, Hercules, and probably Zebedee.

In Salty's Lighthouse, Fire Tug became Red Fin. This could be a result of a misinterpretation on the editor's parts: in the TUGS episode, Munitions, Bluenose arrogantly calls him a 'red thing', and seeing as Bluenose's heavy accent can be indistinguishable at times, the editors of Salty's Lighthouse could have heard the name as Red Fin. He was voiced by Paul Dobson
