Merseyside and portions ofLancashire , Greater Manchester and Cheshire. It stretches fromSouthport in the north, toWidnes in the south, and from theRiver Mersey toWigan in the east. Its see is in the City of Liverpool at the Cathedral Church of Christ in Liverpool.The Bishop's residence is Bishop's Lodge, Liverpool.
The office has existed since the founding of the diocese in 1880 under
