In
2004 the band released an EP called "Here Comes a Close Up". Limited to a certain amount of copies it was not eligible for the UK singles chart but did manage to sell all its limited edition units.The band released their debut album "The Glitterati" on the 25th April 2005. The album was produced by
Mike Clink , who previously worked with bands such asGuns N' Roses ("Appetite For Destruction" and "Use Your Illusion" I and II) andMetallica . The album was recorded in aLos Angeles studio. This was followed by the extensive "Back In Power" tour of the UK.In early
2005 the band broke into the Top 40 Singles Chart with their single "You Got Nothing On Me". Their next single, "Heartbreaker", also entered the UK Top 40Over the summer of 2005 The Glitterati played some major festivals in the United Kingdom such as
T in the Park andDownload Festival atDonington Park . This earned the band a fairly significant fanbase across the country.The band can be compared to rivals
Towers of London and are said by some to have a sound and style very similar toVelvet Revolver with their raunchy lyrics, heavy riffs and general appearance.econd Album
As of late 2007, The Glitterati is in the process of making their second album with producer Matt Hyde (also known for his work with Gallows, Trivium and Slipknot). The album is due for release April 2008 and there will be a headline tour to coincide with the release, the band's first since the departures of Snell and Denson.
Songs believed to be included are "Lola It's Over", "Fight Fight Fight" and "Too Many Girls".
