Alan Malcolm Chesney (born
April 28 ,1949 inChristchurch ) is a formerfield hockey player fromNew Zealand , who was a member of the national team that won the gold medal at the1976 Summer Olympics inMontreal .Chesney played at centre half for Canterbury and left half for the national team in the 1976 Olympic team, having dipped his toe in the waters of international hockey as early as 1969. He played for the Harewood club in Christchurch.
After the 1976 Summer Olympics, Chesney, a born salesman, moved to
Perth, Western Australia and he has not lived in his native country since. He was involved ininsurance andfinance . Recently he has opened an office inSingapore and among the products he is marketing is a line of health supplements.
