John Herman Cox (born
July 15 1955 ) is an Americanlawyer ,accountant ,businessman , broadcaster, and aspiringpolitician . He was the first Republican to seek formally the party's 2008 nomination for president, but effectively withdrew from the race in late 2007 and suspended his campaign shortly after.Biography

Chicago , Cox is a graduate of theUniversity of Illinois at Chicago , where he majored inaccounting andpolitical science , and ofIllinois Institute of Technology –Chicago-Kent College of Law . He is married to Sarah, has four daughters, and is Catholic. He credits his wife as inspiring him to run for president.
