Athens Folk Music and Dance Society

The Athens Folk Music and Dance Society is an organization that promotes folk music and folk dance in the Athens, Georgia area. The Society grew out of the Athens Friends of Folk Music and was founded by a University of Georgia student, hammered dulcimer player and banjoist, Joe Wadsworth, and Art Rosebaum.
The Society has been hosting music festivals since at least 1984, and is now closely associated with the North Georgia Folk Festival.
