HSTN

HSTN

High School Television Network, more commonly referred to as HSTN is a now defunct Canadian category 2 digital cable specialty channel. It launched on August 26, 2002 Fact|date=September 2008 on Rogers Cable and it planned to show high school sports, concerts, and plays from across Canada. Also every Friday night it intended to broadcast live from a high school dance. During its early existence, however, it showed very little besides endless repeats of Sponsé, a Toronto-area amateur film made by high school students. The channel disappeared soon after its creation.

On September 30, 2005, "SF Partners Inc."' purchased the channel and re-named it YES-TV and intended to re-launch the service. As of late 2007, there has been no indication that this service would be re-launching. In addition, the licence granted by the CRTC has since expired and thus the owners would have to re-apply for a licence if they intend to launch it which does not appear likely at this point.
