Bands

truggle

"1991-1994"
Struggle began Pearson's music career, when he was age 15. They released an LP and an EP on Ebullition Records.Justin Pearson Interview, Skatepunk.net, January/March 2000 [http://www.skatepunk.net/articles/jpiview.html] Access date: July 17, 2008.]

wing Kids

"1994-1997"
Swing Kids were an early San Diego screamo group, indebted to Drive Like Jehu and Joy Division.

The Crimson Curse

The Crimson Curse was Pearson's first group to include keyboards and elements of deathrock. The band was an attempt to return a sense of lunacy and excitement to the hardcore punk scene, which had begun to appear dry and pedantic to Pearson. Pearson says he modelled the group on the Dead Boys. The band also included Jimmy LaValle of Tristeza.

The Locust

"1994-Present"
The Locust was initially a powerviolence project whose first release was a split with Man Is the Bastard. Later releases incorporated synthesizers and became increasingly theatrical. The Locust is Pearson's best-known work.

Holy Molar

"2001-Present"
Holy Molar is a side-project of the Locust; in addition to Locust members Pearson, Gabe Serbian, and Bobby Bray, the group includes Ron Avila (formerly of Antioch Arrow) and Mark McCoy (formerly of Charles Bronson, currently of Das Oath).

ome Girls

"2002-2007"
Some Girls was formed by Wesley Eisold, formerly of Give Up the Ghost. The group blended grindcore with noise rock, and collaborated with Karen O.

Head Wound City

"2005-Present"
Along with Pearson, Head Wound City consists of Jordan Blilie and Cody Votolato of The Blood Brothers, Nick Zinner from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Gabe Serbian, of The Locust and Holy Molar.

Rogue Astronaut

"2008"
Rogue Astronaut is a noise music project, with Bobby Bray of The Locust, and Bill Nelson and Eric Wood of Bastard Noise (formerly Man Is the Bastard).

Influences

Groups in which Pearson participated have covered songs by Queen, Joy Division, Public Image Ltd., the Birthday Party, and Crossed Out.
