December 2 ,2005 , TheNew York Times reported that Novak tipped off Karl Rove's lawyer,Robert Luskin , about the testimony that one of her colleagues atTime Magazine , Matthew Cooper, was giving to the special prosecutor,Patrick Fitzgerald .
