The large freshwater lake covers about 1,000 square kilometers.Its name is sometimes rendered as "Bosten", "Bosten-See", "Bosten Hu", "Bagrax-hu", "Bagrasch-köl", "Baghrasch köl", "Bagratsch-kul", "Bositeng Lake" or "Bositeng Hu." A fishery exists on the lake and fish such as
Bullhead and Blunt-snoutbream are native to the lake. Westerners sometimes refer to it as the 'Oriental Hawaii ofXinjiang ' because of its unique lush scenery surrounded by the harshGobi Desert .External links
