Canadian federal election results in rural Alberta

__NOEDITSECTION__This is page shows results of Canadian federal elections in the province of Alberta outside the Calgary and Edmonton areas.

Regional profile

Rural Alberta is clearly Canada's most conservative region. It is likely that the Conservatives will sweep the region yet again with astronomical pluralities in many ridings. This was always the base of support for the former Reform and Canadian Alliance parties from 1993 to 2000 and the former Progressive Conservative Party swept in every election before that in recent memory. The Liberals and New Democratic Party (NDP) are barely on the radar screen here; in fact, the Green Party finished second in Wild Rose in 2006, and could duplicate that in other ridings.
