- HyperACCESS
HyperACCESS is the name for a number of successive computer communications software, made by
Hilgraeve .It was the first software product from Hilgraeve, and it was initially designed to let 8-bit Heath computers communicate over a modem. In
1985 this same product was ported to IBM PCs and compatible systems. Over the years the same version of this technology would be ported to other operating systems includingOS/2 ,Windows 95 andWindows NT . It has earned a total of five Editor's Choice awards fromPC Magazine .In
1995 Hilgraeve licensed a low-end version of HyperACCESS, known as HyperTerminal (essentially a "Lite" version) toMicrosoft for use in their set of communications utilities. It was initially bundled with Windows 95, and subsequently all versions of Windows up to and includingWindows XP .Windows Vista does not include HyperTerminal, though the commercial products HyperTerminal Private Edition (latest version being 6.4) and HyperACCESS (latest version being 8.4) both support Vista.Hilgraeve's health care assets were purchased by
