Urban Artillery

Urban Artillery

URBAN ARTILLERY is a Los Angeles-based band founded by Jeff Hollie (Frank Zappa, Burning Sensations, Bonedaddys) and Steve Young (Beef Box, Urban Artillery, Q Styles Infinity). Their overall sound has been described as a cross between George Clinton and Rage Against the Machine. During their mercenary tenure on the local Los Angeles club scene, the band had performed at all the standard rock institutions such as Music Machine, Palomino, Madame Wongs, Club Lingerie, Country Club, and more alternative venues like Water the Bush, and Al's Bar. Urban Artillery appeared annually at the West Hollywood Street Festival and the Sunset Junction Street Festival as well as being showcased on KROQ's Local Music Showcase. The band was interviewed on several television shows including Century Cable's "What's Bubbling Underground" and Rachel Donaghue's "On the Flipside". Urban Artillery has produced 2 videos for their songs, "Beautiful Country" and "Racist Town" which was filmed at night on the steps of City Hall in downtown Los Angeles. The band received a moderate amount of exposure on mainstream television and radio in Los Angeles in the 80's and also recorded the song Racist Town which was on the soundtrack of the movie Floundering.
