Norwich Anarchist Students
- Norwich Anarchist Students
Norwich Anarchist Students (NAS) was set up in September 2003 with the assistance of Norwich Anarchists. Since then it has often been the most active political grouping at the University of East Anglia, and the only left wing one. Politically, the group consists of a broad spectrum of anarchist opinion but the main flow is mainstream anarchism as typified by the anarchist FAQ.
The group has varied activities, from discussion meetings to video showings to throwing eggs at visiting politicians and providing counterinformation stalls at recruitment days. Since its formation it has gradually grown. Members of NAS have been involved in setting up The Great Commotion, a free newsletter for Norwich with an anarchist perspective, although the newsletter is and always has been, an independent publication with no official ties to any political organisation.
