The Legend of Prince Valiant Character Guide

This is a guide to the characters of "The Legend of Prince Valiant " Tv series. The characters were based on both Arthurian Legend, and Hal Foster's Epic Comics Strip Prince Valiant. Other characters were the creation of the talented writers of the series. Fans of The Legend of Prince Valiant, agree that the characters brought new life to the old tales of Camelot, and King Arthur's Round Table. The characters gave the series a "New Age" feel, yet stayed true to the spirit of honor brought to life by the beloved tales of Camelot.

Main Character Outline

The three characters that are the driving force of the are Valiant, Arn, and Rowanne. Although Prince Valiant is the main character and the only one to appear in every episode, Arn and Rowanne are co-stars rather than side kicks. All three of these young heroes have storylines that guide the direction of the series. They achieve their goals only after overcoming various adversaries, learning many important life lessons, and experiencing a great deal of personal growth.

Many characters impact the young heroes on their quest for knighthood, but five in particular stand out. One is the character of Merlin, who brings wisdom, understanding, and a spark of wit to the world of Camelot. Then there are King Arthur and Queen Guinevere, who bring a "New Order" to their people by ruling according to the ideals of justice, truth, and equality. Finally, Sir Gawain and Sir Bryant train Valiant, Arn, and Rowanne and exemplify all that is noble about knighthood through their unconditional loyalty to their king and queen.
