South Indian Education Society

The South Indian Education Society (SIES) is one of the oldest educational societies in Mumbai and was pioneered in 1932. What started with a strength of six students has now become a conglomerate of various institutions with over 18,000 students under its wing. SIES has established a high school, an array of arts, science and commerce colleges, along with academic and professional institutions of higher learning.

South Indian Education Society (S.I.E.S. or SIES in short) is a trust which mainly runs educational institutions with its base in Mumbai. The trust started off with the S.I.E.S. High School in the year 1932 with just six students later going on to be one of Mumbai's oldest and premier educational institutions. During the course of time it founded many other educational institutions starting the SIES college of Arts and Science in its nearby neighborhood Sion.

S.I.E.S. College of Arts and Science

It was founded in 1960. It comprises the S.I.E.S. Arts and Science College (Degree College) and the S.I.E.S. Junior College of Arts and Science. Excellent results at various examinations and coveted awards and prizes bagged by the students have placed this college among the most outstanding institutions in the city. The principal is Dr. Harsha Mehta. This college is counted as one of the best because of its acclaimed teaching staff. The college has been awarded a B⁺⁺ rating by the NAAC.

Visions

It is a three day Intra and Inter-Collegiate Festival held annually in the college. It is a very colourful event where students participate in inter-class cultural competitions, fashion shows, fashion designing, painting, quizzes, elocution competitions and so on. The most outstanding feature of Visions is, it is of the students, for the students and by the students. The students manage everything from public relations to marketing to performing arts and even brainwaves and the fine arts.
