Refilwe

Refilwe

Refilwe ("We're blessed") is a township near Lanseria Airport, north of Johannesburg in Gauteng Province, South Africa. It was established in 1991 when Jean Stewart and Yvonne Jaques started primary health treatment in the corner of a small hall in the Drummond settlement, Lanseria. It was at this point that the Refilwe community project was born and has since grown into the current project attempting to address the diverse needs of the area surrounding the project.

The church of St. Michael and All Angels in Newton, West Kirby, Wirral, England has an extensive link with the project and regularly sends parishioners to help with the project.
