Postal Orders of Anguilla

Postal Orders of Anguilla

Postal Orders of Anguilla are those British postal orders that were issued in Anguilla, a British colony located in the Caribbean Sea.

Postal Orders

Anguilla has only ever issued British postal orders from its local post offices, especially the G.P.O. in The Valley, which is the capital of the colony.

Political history of Anguilla

Anguilla was once part of the Federation of St. Kitts - Nevis - Anguilla. In 1967 a referendum was held resulting in a vote in favour of secession and became a self-governing British colony. In 1969, a self-declared 'Republic of Anguilla' was established, but was overthrown within a month. Anguilla remains a colony to this day.
