The Khalifas who took the right way

The Khalifas who took the right way

"The History of the Khalifahs who took the right way" is a translation of "Tarikh al-Khulafa – History of the Caliphs" a classical work that presents authentic hadith about the first "Rightly Guided Caliphs" and biographies of all of the subsequent caliphs of Islam up until those contemporary with the author himself, and including accounts of peripheral competing caliphates and dynasties. It was written by Sunni scholar Suyuti. Its translator, Abdassamad Clarke, chose to translate the biographies of the first four "Rightly Guided Caliphs" adding to them Hasan ibn Ali, because of his action in healing the divisions in the early community and legitimately handing power over to Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan under whose rule the Muslims enjoyed a substantial period of civil peace and prosperity.
