Margaret Elizabeth Mullett OBE is Professor of Byzantine Studies and has held the position of the director of the Institute of Byzantine Studies at the Queen's University of Belfast and that of the Director of the Queen's Gender Initiative.[1][2] She has held a research fellowship in Byzantine Studies at Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection in Washington, D.C.,[1] the foremost centre for the study of Byzantium in North America. She is the author of Theophylact of Ochrid: Reading the Letters of a Byzantine Archbishop, Variorum, 1997.[1]
Mullett was created an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2006.[3][4]
