Candy (band)

Candy (band)

Candy were a rock band featuring the future Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke. Original members were lead vocalist Kyle Vincent, bassist Jonathan Daniel, drummer John Schubert, and guitarist Geoff "Rexx" Siegel. Clarke replaced Siegel after 6 months. Their music could be described as power-pop or pop-edged hard rock.

Their only album, titled "Whatever Happened To Fun", was released in 1985, when the band toured the United States opening up for Rick Springfield and later Corey Hart.

The music video for the single "Whatever Happened To Fun," directed by Dominic Orlando, was filmed on location in Hollywood, with Candy performing to a street crowd and a mural of famous old Hollywood stars. The video also depicts a fallen Statue of Liberty, its inclusion requested by the band as an homage to the film Planet of the Apes.

Later that year, Gilby Clarke replaced Kyle Vincent as lead vocalist, and guitarist Ryan Roxie joined the lineup.

After Gilby left, the rest of the band members joined up with new lead vocalist Shane and became the Electric Angels.
