Sehrawat

Sehrawat or Sherawat or Sahrawat or Rawat or Rae are the same and gotra of Jats found in New Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in India. Rai, Rao, Rawat and Sahrawat were only titles used by Tanwar sardars which later began to be used as gotras. The Rawat Jats have 800 villages in district Gurgaon and 8 villages in district Aligarh.

The capital of Sehrawats is Kishan Garh, Mehrauli in New Delhi where a very old house is still called a Palace.

12 Villages near Mehrauli belong to the Sehrawat Jats. In Haryana they are found in Kair, Dipalpur, Bhadani, Kultana and other villages, and some are found in district Meerut also.

Delhi has a major concentration of Sehrawats and are found mainly in villages Mahipalpur, Malik pur kohi alias Rangpuri, Nangal Dewat (now acquired & shifted due to expansion of IGI Airport; shifted behind Indian spinal injuries hospital in a resettlement colony ), Kair, Kishan Garh, Bawana, Bakkarwala, Hiran Kudna alias Jaffarpur, Baprola, Sahipur, Pochan Pur, Dhool Siras, Mehram Nagar.

Haryana

In Haryana the main village of Sehrawats in Haryana is Khard Alipur, Niyana, Bhainswal, Dipalpur, Bhadani, Kultana and some villages near Tauru (Sehrawats in Tauru are basically from the villages of New Delhi; namely Mahipalpur, Nangal Dewat etc. who migrated there after land acquisition in New Delhi), Sukhrali (Gurgaon), Hassanpur (Tauru) and Dhakiya (Rewari). Few families of Sehrawat are also located in Dubaldhan Majra (Jhajar).
