In
2004 , Wal-Mart faced opposition by local and environmental groups opposed to the installation of a Wal-Mart-ownedBodega Aurrerá store located near the archeological site ofTeotihuacán . In spite of negative sentiments by these groups and the media, theNational Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) dismissed concerns that construction of the store would destroy archeological treasures.
