Englehart is a
town in thedistrict of Timiskaming,province ofOntario ,Canada . (2006 population 1,494.) It was built in 1908 by theTemiskaming and Northern Ontario Railway , what would later become theOntario Northland Railway , as a rest stop between North Bay and Cochrane. The town was named after Jacob Lewis Englehart, a key figure in the development of the T & N.O. Today, Englehart's importance as a railway town has diminished, and the biggest employer is an oriented strand board (OSB) facility owned by Grant Forest Products.CJBB-FM broadcasts from Englehart.Train derailment
