- Randall Beer
Randall D. Beer is a professor of
cognitive science ,computer science , andinformatics at Indiana University. He was previously atCase Western Reserve University . His primaryresearch interest is in understanding how coordinatedbehavior arises from theneurodynamics of an animal's nervous system, its body and its environment. He works on theevolution and analysis of dynamical "nervous systems" formodel agent s, neuromechanical modeling of animals, biomorphic robotics , anddynamical systems approaches to behavior andcognition . More generally, he is interested in computational andtheoretical biology , including models ofmetabolism ,gene regulation and development. He also has a longstanding interest in the design and implementation ofdynamic programming language s and their environments.Books
