Carfin andNewarthill inNorth Lanarkshire ,Scotland . It is 22 km (14 miles) south east ofGlasgow Central railway station on theShotts Line between Glasgow and Edinburgh.It contains two platforms; one for trains in the direction of Glasgow, and the other for trains to Edinburgh Waverley via Shotts.
Like the following stop on the
Shotts Line - Holytown - the location of the station is ambiguous, since it is situated betweenCarfin andNewarthill , although closer to a housing estate which is classed as being inNewarthill .ervices
Trains from Carfin station provides an hourly service to the heart of Glasgow, stopping along the way at Holytown, Bellshill, Uddingston and Cambuslang. There is no Sunday service.
