Unless there are events occurring at First Niagara Center, this is the southern terminus of Metro Rail. Since the station serves as a terminal, immediately north of the station is a double crossover.
The station is located within the Metro Rail "fare-free" zone, which allows passengers free travel between the Erie Canal Harbor station and Theater station. Passengers continuing past Theater station (northbound) are required to provide proof-of-payment.
