- Interonset interval
In
music the interonset interval or IOI is thetime between the beginnings or attack-points of successive events ornote s, the interval between onsets, not including theduration of the events. For example, twosixteenth note s separated by dotted eighth rest would have the same interonset interval as between aquarter note and a sixteenth note.
