Sharon Ní Bheoláin (surname pronEng|nʲiː vʲoʊlˠaːn) is is a television newsreader with Radio Telefís Éireann (RTÉ.) in the Republic of Ireland. Today, she is best known as co-anchor of RTÉ One’s .

Early and private life

Sharon Ní Bheoláin is the Irish translation of the English name 'Sharon Boland'. Sharon prefers to use the Irish version of her name, and this is the name by which she almost exclusively known. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin (TCD) with an honours BA degree in early and modern Irish. Career

She is currently the co-anchor on RTÉ's Six One News bulletin. She began her career with RTÉ in 1994 presenting Nuacht RTÉ and in 1997 she became the presenter of News 2. [http://www.rte.ie/tv/turasteanga/presenter.html "Turas Teanga" - Presenter (Sharon Ní Bheoláin)] .] Throughout the early 2000s, she had sporadic appearances on various RTÉ News programmes - including Six-One News, the Nine O'Clock programme and on RTÉ Two's News programmes. In 2005 she became permanent co-presenter of "Six One News".

She also presented the short-run RTÉ series "Turas Teanga", which helped viewers learn the Irish language. It is now available in DVD and book form.
