Joseph "McG" McGinty Nichol (born August 9, 1968) is an American film and television producer and director. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

McG graduated with a psychology degree from UC Irvine. He started as a still photographer in the music business, shooting local bands and musicians with whom he was friendly. He helped produce the debut album by Sugar Ray, "Lemonade and Brownies". Eventually, this led him to direct music videos, namely for Fastball, Korn and The Offspring.

His films (as director) include "Charlie's Angels", and its sequel ' as well as "We Are Marshall". His television series credits include "Fastlane", "The O.C.", "Supernatural", "Chuck" and '.

He is currently directing the next installment of the "Terminator" franchise: "Terminator Salvation".

In 2008, McG was the executive producer for The WB Television Network's new online portal.
