The Gumpert Apollo is the first vehicle produced by Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH in Germany - in the city of Altenburg, Thuringia. Design

The Apollo is a convert|1100|kg|lb|abbr=on, street-legal race car. It is a mid engined, rear wheel drive two-seater constructed on a tubular Chromoly frame, with fiberglass or optional carbon fiber body panels. An Audi convert|4.2|L|cuin|abbr=on V8 engine is joined to a six-speed sequential gearbox with Formula 1 influences. It produces convert|650|bhp|kW|abbr=on and convert|627|lbft|Nm|abbr=on. Estimated top speed is convert|224|mph|km/h|abbr=on with 0-convert|60|mph|km/h|abbr=on reached in 3.0 seconds. A new convert|800|bhp|kW|abbr=on version is also being created.

Closed-Deck light metal crankcase, light metal cylinder heads with five valves per cylinder, four overhead camshafts, variable time of ignition (Vario Cam Direct) on the intake, Hydraulic valve clearance compensation, dry sump lubrication, double-flow exhaust system with 3-way catalytic converter, four Lambda probes for gas mixture and diagnostics, On-board diagnostic System, intercooler, Engine Management ME7.11, electronic ignition with a rested ignition distribution (eight ignition coils), sequential multipoint fuel injection, electronic accelerator system (Drive-by-Wire)
