For the UK release, "Open Your Heart" was included as the b-side due to it being used in a Renault car commercial at the time. It was not featured in "
GHV2 ", Madonna's second greatest hits collection, however it was featured as a track on "Something to Remember ", Madonna's ballads collection. The song was performed during the Girlie Show Tour in 1993, and was used as a video interlude remixed with The
Eurythmics 'Here Comes The Rain Again on her 2008Sticky & Sweet Tour .Music video
The video, directed by
Mark Romanek , was a lush video set on a back stage which was filmed fromMay 16 -19,1993 at aSanta Monica Airport hangar inSanta Monica, California . Madonna introduced her next short-lived incarnation in the video; the gamine who appeared in the "Fever" video was back again, but this time her hair was dark. The video was shot entirely on black & white film, and was later hand colored, which lends the impression that Madonna is wearing blue contact lenses, although she is not. The overall effect of the makeup and video's styling evoked Japanese sensibilities, a cultural approach she would time and time again borrow and remodel as her own. The video won two
MTV Video Music Awards for Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography.*Director: Mark Romanek
