The road was originally a main road lying on the north coast of
Hong Kong Island fromCauseway Bay to Shau Kei Wan, passing throughNorth Point ,Tsat Tsz Mui andQuarry Bay .In
1935 , the section between the east end ofCauseway Road in Causeway Bay andTai Kat Street near the East Gate ofTaikoo Dockyard (present-dayTaikoo Shing ) was renamed to King's Road for thesilver jubilee of the ascendent ofGeorge V of the United Kingdom . At the same time, the section from the junction of Causeway Road and King's Road toPower Street was renamed asElectric Road while the section between King's Road and Electric Road asTung Lo Wan Road .ee also
