radio station , broadcasting at 91.5 FM in Kitchener,Ontario from the Global TV tower at 475 Ayr Road, nearParis, Ontario . The station broadcasts aTop 40 format as 91.5 The Beat - Hit Music Radio. The station had been airing arhythmic top 40 format (e.g. rap / hip hop,reggae ,R&B ) untilAugust 6 ,2005 , the day they segued to their current format,contemporary hit radio .The station was launched by

Its morning DJs had been AJ and Adele, while afternoons were handled by Kwame and Big Mike. Mocha hosted the evening show. AJ was replaced by Edge, and Mocha replaced Kwame in the afternoons. Rob Daniels was then hired for the night show. Later, sometimes, Edge was replaced by Touch and Rob Daniels was replaced by Mr. D.In September 2006,Corus Entertainment , already owner ofCJDV-FM in nearby Cambridge, announced it would buy CKBT and Winnipeg'sCJZZ-FM from CanWest, subject toCanadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) approval. The transaction was approved by the CRTC onJuly 6 ,2007 [ [http://www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/Decisions/2007/db2007-215.htm Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2007-215] ] , and as ofJuly 29 ,2007 , CKBT was officially made part of Corus Entertainment's radio properties.References
