Ruet Caelum

Ruet Caelum

Ruet Caelum was a screamo/indie band from Cleveland, Ohio. Ruet Caelum has been likened to A Long Winter and early emo bands like Rites of Spring and Indian Summer. Ruet Caelum was well know for their explosive live shows, and someone was bound to get injured at almost every show.
Lyrically, the band dealt with overcoming loss and moving past bad relationships between lovers and between friends. Ruet Caelum played their first show on October 13th of 2003 to a crowd of 50 and played their final show in January 2005 at the world famous Grog Shop venue in Cleveland, Ohio to a crowd of 400.

Disbandment

Ruet Caelum has stated that they called it quits due to creative differences although at the time of their breakup it was rumored to be due to growing tensions between band members.

Noteworthy Performances

* Ruet Caelum played with Victory Records bands Hawthorne Heights and Silverstein.
* Sold out The Pirate's Cove for their album release show.
* During the last song of their final show, fans rushed the stage and someone sprayed a fire extinguisher onto the crowd and the band themselves. Technically, the band never finished their final performance because the chemicals from the extinguisher caused the band to stop playing due to burning eyes, burning skin, and loss of oxygen. Several people were brought to the hospital, although there were no serious injuries.
