† Appearances (Goals).Djombo "Dany" N'Guessan (born 11 August 1987) is a French footballer who currently plays for Millwall. He is an attacking player by nature, and plays often on the left-hand side, although he can also play on the right and up front or just behind the strikers.

Career
Early career
N'Guessan, a product of the famous AJ Auxerre youth academy, joined Rangers on two-year contract in July 2005,[1] the club beating off competition from Valencia, Olympique de Marseille, Bordeaux and Manchester City to secure his signature.[2] Awarded the squad number 50, N'Guessan first made the first team squad as an unused substitute in the 3–2 defeat at Aberdeen on 14 August 2005[3] and went on to make a further six unused appearances on the bench during the Scottish Premier League season.[4] He spent the first half of the 2006/07 season on loan to Boston United, and was then sold to Lincoln City on 23 January 2007. On 13 May 2009, N'Guessan was granted permission by the club to speak to Leicester City after he rejected their new contract offer.[5]
Leicester City
He signed a three-year contract with Leicester City on 26 June 2009.[6] The club had beaten the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich Town for his signature.[7] Although Lincoln were entitled to compensation (due to N'Guessan being 21), a compensation fee was not settled between the two clubs until late July.[8]
N'Guessan made his competitive debut for Leicester on 8 August, coming on as a half time substitute for Andy King against Swansea City, scoring the winning goal as Leicester won 2–1.[9] He scored his second goal just four days later in a 2–0 League Cup win over Macclesfield Town on 12 August, making his full debut for the club.[10] On 6 February 2010, N'Guessan helped Leicester to their first away victory over Blackpool in 73 years by scoring in a 2–1 win.[11]
On 12 November 2010, N'Guessan joined Scunthorpe United on Loan, initially for one month. He went straight into the squad for the game against Cardiff City on 13 November.[12]
Southampton
On 26 January 2011, N'Guessan signed a six-month loan deal with Southampton,[13] who have the first option to buy N'Guessan at the end off the 2010–11 season. He played 15 minutes in their 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup 4th Round. He started the away game at Exeter City, setting up Rickie Lambert's first goal in a 2-1 victory.
Millwall
On 8 August N'Guessan joined Millwall on a six month loan.[14] He scored on his debut at Plymouth in the League Cup on 9 August 2011. On 31 August 2011, he signed for Millwall permanently on a three year deal. On the 31st of August, transfer deadline day, N'Guessan signed a 3 year contract with Millwall stating "The manager has shown faith in me and I think I can do well here. I hope to do that and help Millwall up the table."[15]
