- PFA Team of the Year
The Professional Footballers' Association Team of the Year (often called the PFA Team of the Year, or simply the Team of the Year) award is given to a set of forty-four footballers in the top four flights of English football, the
Premier League ; the Championship; League One and League Two, whom are seen to be deserving of being named in a "Team of the Year".The shortlist is compiled by the members of the
Professional Footballers' Association (the PFA), and then the winners are voted for by the other players in the league. The prize is regarded as one of the highest awarded by the PFA - especially by the players - and is seen as the primary "Team of the Year" award in England. The voting starts in January and is not open for a few months. Also, the award is not heavily biased to the current season as that is not what players, and people in general, consider with these awards.
