Essendon District Football League

The Essendon District Football League (EDFL) is an Australian rules football Amateur League, based in the north-western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria comprising of 24 clubs. The EDFL has been supplying football to the community since 1930.

About

The league currently caters for children aged 7 years old right up to open-age. The league has come a long way since 1930, and to date has established: EDFL Umpires Association, EDFL Trainers Association, EDFL Auskick as well as many other organisations and is now recognised as one of the best amateur leagues in Victoria.

The league has two divisions for senior football (A Grade & B Grade), and seven divisions for junior football (Div 1 - 7). The EDFL is run mainly on a volunteer basis, with very few paid positions.

Senior Games

The current senior games are played every Saturday (during the football season). The seniors consist of: Under 18s (at 9.30am), Reserves (at 12.00pm) and Seniors (at 2.15pm). There are two divisions in the senior area, A Grade & B Grade.

Juniors Games

The current juniors games are played every Sunday (during the football season). The juniors consist of: Under 10s (at 10.00am), Under 12s (at 11.15am), Under 14s (at 12.45pm) and Under 16s (at 2.15pm). There are seven junior divisions and each team listed in the senior section has a junior team in divisions 1, 2 or 3 for each age group, however many clubs have more in divisions 4, 5, 6 & 7.
